Shiny Like Silk

I decided to make two different pictures using this cool website called shiny like silk. I thought this assignment was very fun and entertaining. I did more than this but these were my favorite two. You could make so many different cool and fun images with this tool and I hope to use it more in the future!

What’s in Your Bag?

This is a photo of what was in my bag today and what is typically in my bag on a school day. I had my binder, notebook, textbook for my advanced web design class which is my favorite class this semester, planner, wallet, chapstick, pens and pencils, and an iClicker which I need for my Accounting class (my least class this semester). Sometimes my bag has a lot more stuff like on my longer days I will carry my laptop and maybe another textbook if I need it, therefore my bag gets very heavy sometimes.

Stencil Image

This week I decided to do a visual assignment where you choose any photo you want, strip it of its color, and make it look like a drawing, sketch, or “stencil” instead of a real image. I had fun with this because I found a really cute picture of my cat at home and edited it quite a bit to try to match the description of this assignment. I think the stencil look is very interesting and changes the details of the whole picture by a lot. There are many different textures in different parts of this picture now which makes it more interesting to look at in my opinion. Also I noticed this look to the image creates extra contrast, for example on the right side, his fur is very dark and on the left side of the image it is very light and a lot less detailed because the details are washed out in a way. I would like to also edit other images like this in the future so I can compare them with their originals as well as compare them with this one that I did.

Blog 3 -Animated GIF

I chose to make an animated GIF for this week’s media project in DTC 356. It was a really fun experience for me and I am going to make these more often now when I have time! I just made the background the sky and the pink rose is blooming over time in the foreground of this image. I did not know how to upload the file directly while also making the picture move so I added a link to my gif file.

Blog Post 2: Dream Vacation - Chelsea Taylor

For this week’s Hybrid Day I chose to do the web assignment titled “Create Your Own Dream Vacation on Pinterest!” I chose to do this assignment because I love using Pinterest and I actually have not gotten to use it much at all lately. The assignment was to create a new board on my Pinterest account titled “Dream Vacation” or something more creative and put multiple pins on my board about that place that appeal to me. So I created my own board called “What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas! (My Dream Vacation)” because Las Vegas is place I would love to visit someday. I would like to visit Vegas because I love tropical weather with pools and beaches, I love going out on the town, and I love doing crazy adventurous things. I think this vacation would be an experience of a lifetime and I’ve always thought about going there someday especially when I turn 21. I turned 21 on May 14th 2014 so I think it is about time for me to try to pursue this dream vacation of mine and make it happen. I think someday I will definitely be able to go to Las Vegas after I graduate college and get a decent job.

Here is the link to my Pinterest Board..

Mashing Friends and Emojis

For the assignment I chose I was required to catch a friend who has an expression matching that of an emoji expression. I love the sunglasses one and happened to take a picture of my boyfriend with his new sunglasses on and it matched perfectly. This was fun!
